Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a Patient Sitter. As a Patient Sitter, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to patients in various healthcare settings. This is an important position that requires patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide constant observation and monitoring of assigned patients
- Ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times
- Assist with daily activities, such as feeding, bathing, and toileting
- Engage in meaningful interactions with patients to provide companionship and emotional support
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals
- Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the appropriate medical staff
- Assist with mobility and transfers as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment
Qualifications:
- Experience in dementia care, assisted living, hospice care, or childcare is preferred
- Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical staff
- Conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Basic knowledge of first aid procedures
